Delete your account
In the app: open Væla, go to Profile, and tap Delete account under Account & security. Confirm, and your account is deleted immediately — no waiting period.
If you're the only admin on your boat, the app will ask you to promote another crew member to admin first. This keeps the boat's tasks, checklists and inventory accessible to the rest of your crew rather than orphaning them.
Without the app: if you no longer have it installed, email support@vaela-app.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account — email, name, position and profile photo
- Your login credentials and any active sessions
- Your assignment to any tasks or recurring task series on your boat
What isn't deleted
Removing your account doesn't delete your boat's shared data — tasks, checklists, inventory records, and anything else the crew created together stay in place for the rest of the crew. Content you added (e.g. checklist entries) may still show your name as its creator, the same way it would for any crew member who leaves the boat.
